Should I make a bet on the flop here when the raiser checks to me? I gave up on this hand after he called the flop bet, but because my turn check gives him the right away to bluff should I perhaps call this river bet?

I dunno. I might check flop here, but I think I bet. I pretty much play it the same way you did.
