Default 5 Handed AJ

Not sure if I like my line at all... every street debatable?

I have been running over this table.
Have a LAG image.

***** Hand History for Game 2243627106 *****
NL Hold'em $50 Buy-in + $5 Entry Fee Trny:13298798 Level:5 Blinds(75/150) - Tuesday, June 21, 22:45:23 EDT 2005
Table Table 22361 (Real Money)
Seat 9 is the button
Total number of players : 5
Seat 6: KingDan24 ( $2200 )
Seat 9: Messy_Jesse ( $1325 )
Seat 8: BENTLEY224 ( $2005 )
Seat 7: TheNipper ( $2695 )
Seat 1: GoldenPig99 ( $1775 )
Trny:13298798 Level:5
Blinds(75/150)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to KingDan24 [ Jd Ac ]
TheNipper raises [400].
BENTLEY224 folds.
Messy_Jesse folds.
GoldenPig99 folds.
KingDan24 calls [250].
** Dealing Flop ** [ 6c, 8h, 2h ]
KingDan24 bets [475].
TheNipper calls [475]. he takes all his time before calling
** Dealing Turn ** [ 9c ]
KingDan24 checks.
TheNipper bets [700] he takes most of his time before betting, which i take as a monster, unless he is weak and is
trying to represent a monster...

How is my flop lead even though I whiff?
I figure he will have missed the flop often, and a hand I could have called from the BB may have connected.

I may have overthought this and should simply give up when I missed

I was not sure how I should have played this. Advice?

I would lean towards pushing this PF but if this guy was on the tight side I could be persuaded to fold. Under no circumstances would I call this hand out of position*.

*(math: getting 2.5:1 to hit a 2:1 shot, *but* if he is tight enough for his range to have you in trouble, you won't like any flop, and if he's loose enough for you to have him beat - he should be - pushing is way better than calling.)

Flop's a clear check/fold.

You've only got 2200 behind when your opponent raises you to t400. There's already t625 in the flop, which is a lot...

Considering you called, this is a pretty good bet to fire out on...

Without a read, I certainly don't fire the turn.

Adanthar's better than I am. Listen to him. He's right too.
