Disconnection Problems

I play Party on my old and crappy Windows. I have DSL and a router that connects my new Mac and my old Windows to the internet. Pretty often when I am playing Party, my internet connection to the windows will start working. The light on the computer acts like I am still connected to the Internet, but nothing on my windows will work, including IE, Mozilla, etc... Meanwhile, while this is happening, the internet on the Mac is running fine. Do I have a virus? What is the remedy?
