Default How to adjust for the new blind level

Ok so i came back from a casino trip to find this new blind level and stick myself for 13 buyins in 140 SnG's since then... i mean i ran HORRRRRIBLE over these 140 and wanted to throw up at some of the spots i ended up in but i can't shake the feeling that MAYBE i'm not adjusting somehow

I personally DON'T like this new blind level, i liked immediately going into push mode at 100-200 but now i guess i have to adjust somehow during the 10 hands at 75-150 which someone else commented on as being "awkward" where you have 8-12 BB and don't know what to do.

Anyone got feeling on this?

Tighten up pushes and calls. Be patient. But remember to push at least one hand per round.

Come on... that is way too much of a generalization to make. Lots of factors dictate how often you should be pushing. Merely saying, "push one time per round" is a bit extreme.

But I agree with the patience thing...

Somebody made the point a few days ago that the new blind structure hasn't really lengthened the average tourney. What I've witnessed is the same pp style all-in fest, except now it's starting at a t150 big blind instead of a t200. Continue playing the same as you would normally, but factor in that instead of pushing with the hopes of stealing 300, you're only getting 225. This has caused me to tighten the belt just a bit in that level. Stay aggressive and you'll get it.

the change in the blinds doesnt change the math because its all with respect to the BB so just do the calculations for when to push, shouldnt be anything new.

That was very general advice, and very loose advice.

I mean, all I can say is push, but don't push too much without specific hands.

the problem imho has to do with getting to 100-200 with less average chips given the same playing style, i feel like it's important to improve chip position during 75-150 in order to get to 100-200 with on average 1500 chips. i feel like i'm getting there with less because i'm having a difficult time finding the sweet spot between my 50-100 and 100-200 play and missing some value somewhere in the 75-150 level

It's always important to improve chip position. But if the cards aren't there, don't run into monsters. Make good pushes, handle your stack well, and gradually ramp up your aggression.

It sounds like you already know your problem, steal more 75-150!
