Re: 109 level 2 with JJ
if UTG+1 limper dude has shown real LAG tendencies then this is fine, some good players who were going to LRR here w/AA, KK will just call because of your large raise but your play is fine, im guessing the river was a very bad card for you though when he played some 89 suited connector crap im too lazy to go back n check the exact hand

Re: 109 level 2 with JJ
You bet 500 when that was going to leave you with 360 and a 1500 pot if called? The pf bet of 200 seems too big too. Villian shows AA, KK, or 99 maybe?

Re: 109 level 2 with JJ
Thanks for the replies - I was not happy with my play of this hand, which is why I posted it. At the very least I should have gone all in on the flop - but I think in general I overplayed these jacks right from the t200 raise, where I was just trying to go on a steal of the limpers.
I had a sort of read on the villain at an intuitive level, but so early in the tournament that should be suspect (OTOH, he played a 5d9d into a flush calling a pre-flop raise from MP just a few hands earlier...) As it turned out I got lucky and he turned over AKo (why he didn't give me credit for at least a PP I have no idea) and I doubled up. thanks! - w |
