Default Questions about Jackpots

I've never played Holde'em where there is a badbeat jackpot (they don't have any in Ontario). But in case I ever go to somewhere thathas it, I have a few questions:

is it only the person who loses who gets the entire jackpot or does his opponent get some of it? for example, if the jackpot is 50K, and player A has quad kings and loses to player B who has Quad Aces, does player A get 50 K or is it split somehow.
If the answer is that Player A gets all the money, then what happens if player B folds his winning hand (because he is an idiotor out of spite for player A)? Does that mean player A wins the pot but loses the jackpot because he now wins the hand??

Thanks in advance

AFAIK, standard procedure is to give the losing hand 50%, the winning hand 25%, and everyone else at the table shares the remaining 25% (the "table share").

At my Riverboat poker room it is split 40% to the loser,
20% to the winniner, and 40% to the room (small room).
Everybody wins when the jackpot is hit.

Default Every place has different jackpot rules....

Slim,

While most jackpots are similar in nature, every casino may well have it's own quirky rules. At our local riverboat, in hold 'em, Aces full of jacks or better must lose. They may lose to aces full of queens or kings, quads, a straight flush or a royal. Also, the winning hand only has to use one hole card while the loser must use both. Finally, there must be a minimum of $30 in the pot(Jackpots have been lost because this minimum wasn't met!). In this particular casino, the losing hand gets 50% the winner gets 25% and the other 25% is split between the other players who were dealt a live hand in the hand.

The point of my post is each casino has slightly different rules, so be sure to ask, and be sure to understand before you sit down. If you are going to have to pay the jackpot drop, you should give yourself the best shot you can at winning a piece of it.

Good luck,
