Default What do you use to convert/rip mp3\'s?

I was doing some mp3 player shopping when the guy told me about the differences between mp3's and wma's.

I was hoping maybe some of you guys could give me some recommendations about good software that will convert mp3's to wma format; or tell me, for intance, whether windows media player or Winamp will do it, etc..

Thanks.

Can you download that or is it something I'll need to go to the store to pick up?

P.S. You're the biggest/most clueless luckbox I've ever seen.

Is that good? I'm assuming you mean I can convert MP3's to WMA's at a high rate of speed? (I'm not very good at the internet.) If so, that would kick ass.

Do you put MP3's or WMA's in your MP3 player? The guy today told me that WMA's are like half the size, so I was planning to convert a bunch of my MP3's, and make sure the player I get will support the WMA format.

googe "lame" (or l.a.m.e.), rip your mp3s to VBR. high quality without using too much disk space.

You can rip CDs to MP3 format using Windows Media Player. WMP rips in WMA by default, but you can easily change it.

Open WMP, Tools, Options, click the 'Rip music' tab, from there you can see how to change the format. You can also change the quality(as mentioned earlier), and the destination folder.

Enjoy.
