I am just letting you know that I feel the correct play would be fold preflop and not get involved with 34s. This is just how I play hands in the blinds. I wouldn't call 20 with it on the button so there would be no reason to call 20 OOP.

But as far as the rest goes, I push the flop. Jack calls you and flush folds, or 240 in the pot...nice.

I was getting around 8-10 to 1 to call so that really isnt a big deal. With odds that great and only 20 more to call Ill almost call any two

You denied him the pot odds to draw to the flush on both the flop and the turn. Nothing more you can do. You'll be counting that dude's chips next time.

All of your bets were correct in that he was not getting correct odds to call. However, I don't like your check-raise on the flop with a flush draw on board. I think that you should have bet right away (min 1/2 pot bet or more). You're lucky someone bet or else you would give a free card on a flush draw... very risky

I don't know about you but i never really think about preflop calling odds unless it involves 1 other person and it is for the all THEIR chips. Meaning if i can bust someone and I am getting good odds to try, I will call with a bad hand. But I generally don't call OOP because I am getting good odds. It involves seeing a flop with a whole lot of people and possibly getting trapped for all the money. It has a lot to do with what happens AFTER you make a great odds call and now have to play a flop with a million people.

If you NEVER think about pre flop calling odds, you are passing up opportunities. If you value survival over accumulation then that may be the best move. As for me, I am calling $20 here, because if I flop a monster I am going to get well paid, and if I flop a draw I'll get away if it cost too much. It's all in how well you play post flop.
