Default I limp-reraise.

MP2 is slightly loose-aggressive (29/7/2.6). Will play good hands/draws strongly postflop but probably folds more easily than most semi-LAGs. Button is short-stacked; his raise puts him all-in.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $2.
Hero calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, Button raises all-in ($1.66), <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, MP2 calls.

Flop: (10.16 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>...

The rest of the hand is unimportant. Like? Dislike? Why/why not?

I like. That flop is a must-bet. Pre-flop, I like this line b/c there are a lot of flops you're going to like with your hand--inasmuch as you're betting he doesn't like it---and you've got more FE this way.

I think the ability to get a fold on the flop/turn when he has live overcards is pretty important. I know I shouldn't think too hard about the PT numbers, but while he is loose, he's only raising 7% of his hands so it's not like you have a huge (any?) equity edge. Would you have done this if you didn't have the folding read on him?

I guess I don't like.

Once you know you were going to end up HU with him, and he's somewhat aggressive, I'd be more inclined to CR the flop (pretty much any flop) rather than LRR.

Granted - your line makes us seeing the turn much more unlikely, which would be a good thing.

I sort of like it I guess because of all the LRR going on lately, and the button being dead. you're probably ahead of OTB as long as you both see the showdown and his positional advantage is nil.

I'm assuming you're autobetting the flop and firing again if MP smooth calls.

I don't get it. I'm trying to figure out why you'd do this now that half the pot is protected.

I'd be willing to bet Button has two random cards if that matters at all.

Because it's very likely that I've got Button beat, and I'd like to increase my FE against what is most likely, if not definitely, two overcards? I can either spend 2BB's and see the turn (flop c/r followed by turn bet), or spend 1BB (LRR + flop bet), and hopefully not have to see the turn.

I'm guessing that his two random cards match (50% chance of being 4-1 fav, 50% chance of being 4-1 dog) or he's got at least 1 overcard (which could make 3 total, decreasing hero's equity in the pot).

So would you still have led if the flop came ace-high?
