Car Problem
My car started having an interesting problem this morning. Whenever I make a turn (i.e., cut the wheels hard, not like around a curve), the driver's side front wheel sounds like it's catching on something every couple of degrees as it turns. So if I'm making a left, it will make this scraping sound maybe 2 or 3 times. Same thing happens if I'm making a right. I took a look at the wheel but it's not immediately obvious that anything is rubbing against it. Any thoughts on what this could be and how much I can expect to pay to get it fixed?
Thanks. The Doc |

Re: Car Problem
CV Joint.
Front wheel drive car, right? It'll cost a couple hundred. Must be replaced before the wheel falls off. edit: it makes the sound when you're moving, right? Is it a clicking sound? If it makes the sound when you're not moving, just cranking the wheel, I'd check the ole power steering. |

Re: Car Problem
Thanks, I'll check whether it makes the noise moving or not this afternoon.
