Default this hand bent my fragile little mind. was it the right play?

I'm thinking I either should have called to see the flop or pushed but the big stack behind me that called freaked me out so i folded. Obviously, seeing the nine come out I wished I had played the hand but was my fold correct or a big mistake?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (5 handed) converter

MP (t2800)
Hero (t1135)
SB (t1315)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls t100, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (t300) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP bets t300, SB folds, BB folds.

Final Pot: t600

I push preflop, but then again, I'm all angry and bleary-eyed from losing all day.

I dont think folding is a mistake at all b/c you only have about 10 x BB. Raising or folding is the best play.

I dont like limping in this spot either because:
a) you give free cards to a BB whose hand range you have no idea on...
b)99 frequently has overcards flop
c) There is a huge pot already in the middle (250) that can add tremendously to your stack.

I dont think raising to 200 is right because that is a significant portion of your stack. All in or fold is the best play, depending on how the big stack has been playing.

personally, i would have just called. you have position on MP and it still leaves you with 10xBB...time still for at least another orbit to pick your hand to push. pushing is fine too i suppose.

You have 99. That's as good as AQ. You have 11x BB. A weak limper is telling you that he will give you chips. For crying out loud, move all-in.

I don't understand. You hit your hand. Even if he made a straight, you still have outs. Forgetting about pf, I would push in after his bet.

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9, 9.
1 fold, MP calls t100, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

,,,,hero was that fold between MP & SB
