At a 10-handed table, I prefer 3 or 8.

Re: favorite seat position at a casino?
If I sit down at the first hand I try to get the 1 seat most of the time. Where I play this allows me to have my back to the wall so no spectators and I can see the board well. It also lets me talk to the dealers pretty easily which is always nice.
Of course the best seat moves around so I try to be on the right of the maniac after the game gets moving. The 3 and 4 seats are the worst, same with 7 and 8 because sometimes I cannot see the board very well. Tonight I was in the 2 seat and I missed a bet because I didn't notice that the board paired to give me a full house to be the other guys obvious flush. That's what I get for sleeping with my contacts in this afternoon. |

I try to be on the right of the maniac [/ QUOTE ] Wait, you want to be on his right? So that whenever you call, you have to wonder if he's going to raise? So that whenever you play a hand with him (which is often) he'll have position on you? I think you must have meant on his left. It's pretty hard to isolate the maniac if there are 8 players acting between you. -Sam |

This allows you to lead and have him raise to face the field with 2 cold when you need protection, and check-raise to trap when you flop a monster. |

Re: favorite seat position at a casino?
I have to go with the 5 or 6 seat with the longer tables... It's easier to see the board, and those who have cards in the 1 and 10 seats. Nothing worse than sitting in either the 1 or 10 seats, and continually acting out of turn because you can't see the opposite side's cards...

Re: favorite seat position at a casino?
I hate 1 and 9 (at CP, the tables seat 9), mostly because I feel cramped in the space next to the dealer, and hit my knees of the drop boxes.

I thought I was the only one who liked 1 for that reason.

Re: favorite seat position at a casino?
The five or six seat for me. Right in front of the flop and I can sit back and relax in the chair. No need to reach over the table or squinting to see what hit on the river.
