Default Tucson casinos

Has anyone here played at the Desert Diamond or the Casino del Sol?

I'm heading out there next month, and want to know what games they spread, and if it's worth my while.

What limits do you normally play / looking to play? Here's a brief rundown...Casino del Sol (CDS) has a nicer room, better player benefits and promotions, but it is really freaking far to drive there and their game selection sucks. Their big time is usually 6/12 and rarely 10/20 and up if the right lineup is there. CDS has good cheap tournaments but they move super fast and they are pretty small prizes.

Desert Diamond (DD) is in a good location, near the airport. The building itself is old but the poker room is in a separate room they built which looks like a trailer from the outside but is actually quite nice inside. Game selection is good and getting better recently. A weekend lineup will be several 3/6, a 6/12 or two, a 10/20, and a 15/30 or 20/40 (though not always). All those are full kill by the way. DD has a couple bigger buyin tournies (140 bucks or so after mandatory rebuy) with bad structures but weak players. They have a new Sunday noon tourney with lower buyin, unlimited first hour 10 dollar rebuys and still bad structure and even worse players.

I play at DD pretty much every week and I think its a far superior room. Let me know if you have any more specific questions or when you get here feel free to let me know and maybe we can meet up. I play only like one day a week now because of work but usually a Fri/Sat night or Sunday morning for stuck tilt overnight monkey action and the tourney.

And by, "quite nice," you mean, "it looks like a trailer on the inside as well except with poorer lighting."

DeathDonkey, what limits do you play at the Diamond? I play about 3-4 times a month and alternate between del Sol and the Diamond - usually 3/6-6/12.

Whatever red chip game DD is spreading that day I will play. I haven't been playing live too much recently though. Feel free to PM me or something when you are going and maybe I will see you there.

Looks like I'm going to have to polish up my limit game, then.

When I last played limit (almost a year ago) I played 3/6 and 4/8.

I generally prefer low-level NL (1/2, 2/4) and NL tournies.

I'll be coming in from time to time from Sierra Vista, starting August.
