small, limited game selection (1/2 NL, 2/4, 3/6 limit - possibly more but doubtful), terrible players, borgata is right around the corner, a 3 minute drive

I have only been there once, but it was very poorly run. There was a very long list and we were seating our own players. Dealer didn't even say anything, we just told railbirds to sit down.

Small. TERRIBLE players (which can be profitable, but you will suffer more bad beats). Manager bought everybody pizza one night when I was there, which was cool.

Only reason to use the Harrah's poker room is if that's where your room is and you plan on drinking.

pen and paper waiting lists, dealers didn't know much, no rating for comps, bad atmosphere (behind a wall surrounded by shops), cramped space, not an enclosed room so railbirds can just lean in from the edge of the "fence" that defines the poker space.

but the players suck too, so it's +EV overall. it's like the Pacific Poker of AC.

They have good tournaments. They have 4 tournaments a month at $150-$500 plus rake. The tournaments have a slower structure than any of the weekly/daily tournaments in AC.

The ring games are OK if you play low limit. When I was there, they just had 2/4 and 3/6 holdem and 1-5 stud. They sometimes have 1/2 NL.

Most of the smaller rooms are like that, just a few tables of low limit. If you want to play for real money, try Borgata or Taj. Tropicana has some bigger games, but for limit holdem the highest they have is one table of 6/12 on weekday evenings.

Actually, another thing worth mentioning: They have sit and go's. The house take is a bit large, but as soon as you have ten people sign up, they go, any time the room is open. The lowest and most frequently running is a $40+$10 w/ payouts of $200, $120, and $80.

They're currently working on an expansion that will be open the end of June or beginning of July, according to the dealers there. At that time, they will start comping for time. Too little, too late in my opinion.

Just another note on their tournaments - they're having 4 tournaments from 6/16-6/19 for Fathers Day in addition to their regularly scheduled monthly ones, details here --> clicky clicky - i'm hoping to the play in the 6/16 or 6/17 tourney
