Default Betting the over/under...

Perhaps I'm way off in my logic, but it seems like betting the over/under on many sports would be a much more predictable, and hence progitable, move. Any thoughts on this? Perhaps I'm just lamenting my inability to pick NBA winners...

I have heard that historically it is easier to beat the O/U in football than side bets. But, I have not really tried in the NFL. The only time I really do it is when I am teasing it. Other people on here might be able to answer these questions better.
