What do you guys think of this line with a flopped set?
Read on villain is that he is LAG.
Do you like my check on the flop? Lead out on the flop? I was 95 % sure he would bet it. Like my mini-raise to induce an all-in bluff from what seems to be a laggy, poor player? ***** Hand History for Game 2139845130 ***** NL Hold'em $30 Buy-in + $3 Entry Fee Trny:12725068 Level:2 Blinds(15/30) - Wednesday, June 01, 17:24:50 EDT 2005 Table Table 11740 (Real Money) Seat 8 is the button Total number of players : 7 Seat 1: sepher28 ( $775 ) Seat 2: AllInWit27 ( $775 ) Seat 3: cheesemande ( $810 ) Seat 4: jetray ( $1172 ) Seat 7: csideslammer ( $695 ) Seat 8: snowbelt ( $2285 ) Seat 9: abadgerbill ( $1488 ) Trny:12725068 Level:2 Blinds(15/30) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to sepher28 [ 4c 4d ] AllInWit27 folds. cheesemande folds. jetray raises [77]. csideslammer folds. snowbelt folds. abadgerbill folds. sepher28 calls [47]. ** Dealing Flop ** [ 4h, 5h, 7c ] sepher28 checks. jetray bets [200]. sepher28 raises [400]. |

Re: What do you guys think of this line with a flopped set?
if you know he will bet then it is a good check raise, although i may even raise a little more incase of the flush draw. If i didnt know he would bet I would bet out and hope he calls with overs or chases his flush without odds. I doubt he will go all in as a complete bluff after you check raised him, but it has been done.

Re: What do you guys think of this line with a flopped set?
fine play. I might even wait till the turn to raise it if I thought he would bet again. Heads up, I wouldn't worry too much about the flush draw. In a showdown, think you win this hand more than 90% of the time. The only problem there is that he might freeze up if he misses the turn or if a scare card comes.
If you were pretty sure he would call your check-raise, then I think it was better to check-raise the flop, but if you thought he might fold, I'd wait for the turn. |
