Default SB bubble hand played too weakly? (Party $55)

Should I have stayed out with UTG being so short, or should I have shown any strength whatsoever anywhere? I feel like the 900 raise was ok, but should have been followed with a 1000 bet on the flop. Thoughts?

I think a push on the turn is mandatory, pushing on the flop might be risky since u have no information but since its the bubble I really doubt he will want to give a free card so you can safely push the turn.

This is THE perfect time to get involved. He can only call a push w/ AA/KK. The short stack is so short, you havea marginal lead, now put the pressure on. If you don't push preflop, bet another 900-1000 on the flop/turn. You should not, "not get involved because short stack is so short." This should be the case ONLY when you have LESS chips than him, he can bust you, no you.
