Default Ontario games are a fish fry!

I hardly ever go to casinos in the greater Toronto area. But I went out to Port Perry the other day and saw some of the most atrocious play at 10/20 I have ever seen, guys married to any face and any ace any two suited. I expected this play at 5/10(the lowest limit). Damn where do these clowns get their money.........

I have played there once and found the games good as well. How would you compare them to Rama? I have never been and am considering a trip with some guys from the home game.

you must have found an anomaly because while there are still some brutal players, GBH generally has the toughest games in Ontario. Even weekends the 20-40 is 9 sharks circling 1 or 2 fishies.

Blast from the past.
I used to play at the GBH in '98 and '99, when I lived in Toronto. Back then they had about 6 tables, 1 2-5, 3 5-10 and 2 10-20. I remember they used to open up at noon, all the regulars would be standing around waiting to see if they called in early enough to get a seat - mix of retirees, lazy people (me), and curious bingo players.

The games were pretty good then, although I wasn't great (thought I was the man though). I bet none of the every-day regulars from back then are still playing.

Good times.

Are there any cardrooms in the southeast Ontario area? I'm going on a fishing trip somewhere up there (don't know exactly) and would love to ditch out of that for a day to play some cards.

That's kind of a large area, you'd have to narrow it down. Maybe Windsor or Niagara or even Sault St. Marie, depending on where you are.

We go up to Rama for two weeks in the summer and play every night.

For some reason it seems that the players can actually be pretty good from time to time. I think that's because of all the players from New York coming up while on vacation.

We usually play blackjack because it's tough to find a spot at the tables on the weekends.
