Default getting paid for BB specials

It has happened quite frequently in the past couple days to see the flop from the BB for free with some trash like T4o and flop low trips. However, people seem to realize in the $20 SnGs that the BB can have anything when the pot is unraised (it seemed before that some people had a difficult time figuring that out). Every time it's happened, I haven't been able to get too many chips.

Is there some specific adjustment or something I should be doing to try to get paid off for those hands? Or do I have to accept a painful reality that most times a great BB hand isn't worth much?

Depends on how many people are in the hand and the texture of the board.

K44 is likely to get you more chips with 3 players in than 244 would.
