Re: Huge all in from opponent on flop with two pair?
houston, we have a call. i think this is A4, AK, (something else?) slightly more often than 44, JJ, AA. he might have AJ but that's not really an important consideration.

yeah 44 is not unlikely at all. JJ could be out there. still think calling gets you a few bucks in the long run.

Re: Huge all in from opponent on flop with two pair?
I doubt that raising AJo from the blinds as a standard play can be good. And if you do raise it, raise more after 2 limpers. On the flop, if you would lead w/ A K/A Q or KQ (that is if you usually lead when PFR) I would lead this flop to. Since you check-raised, donīt min.raise. Gives away maximum information charging the minimum. I honestly donīt know what I would do here. It looks very much like 4 4. Altough, without a read I would think that 4 4 plays it a bit slower. Call, and hope he has A 4.

You really have to raise more if you are going to raise. Here, it's close. I don't know why a set would play it so hard.

Re: Huge all in from opponent on flop with two pair?
Any reads? Please post reads. The question here is, considering the texture of the flop, which is fairly good for you, do I think villian would misplay a set this badly here? You have so much pot equity on this hand, that I'd be inclined to call here. You may lose this one, but in the long run you're going to show profit.

[ QUOTE ]
I put him on 44 but i had no reads really since he just joined the table. [/ QUOTE ] You put him on 44, or you were afraid of 44? Which one is more likely considering your personality? I don't think you can make this solid of a read, although I agree that if you're losing this hand, it's to 44, but you also have 8.5% chance to boat up by the river. Call. |
