Default Strategy in a certain type of game

I'm playing in a 30 person tournament style no limit game. Also, to ensure extra action we are playing at tables of only 6. The other players are loose and aggressive, but not particularly sophisticated. They tend to call more bets after the flop, then they should. I have played maybe 50 games of poker offline and never played online. I recently read Hold 'em Poker for Advanced Players for the second time. I was thinking of trying harder to play the flop for cheap with suited connecters and try to get big hands. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to adapt strategy for this type of game?

You might get a better set of responses from the Home Poker or Multi-Table Tournaments forums. I suspect the strategy in that type of tournament might differ somewhat from small stakes no limit cash games.
