Default CALL CALL CALL CALL CALL!

I can't get them to fold today. Even when I've got a conservative image, even when they should know thier beat.

Is this a good push?

Fold preflop.

Dont mini-raise.

Dont call the bet on the flop.

Dont go all in when he continues to show you strength.

Conclusions:

If he had an ace, which is likely, you have no outs when you pushed.

Is this a good push: No
Is this the worst thing you did in this hand: No

I should have stopped at the bold bit.

Button is loose. And he is usually bluffing when he min-bets. Based on my observations this far in the tournament I've concluded by the turn that he doesn't have an ace.

If I conclude he doesn't have an ace how the hell can I not go all-in here. And how can he call. I've been very conservative up to this point, no bluffing, no all-ins. How can he not conclude he's behind.

Either he's a genius who knew you didn't have an Ace or he's a moron and you can't bluff a moron.

Ive learnt the lesson many times over that table image means nothing if they arent paying attention.

And who cares about the turn, you should fold preflop.

Next time, you may consider spiking a Jack or King on the river.

What level is this? You ommitted this rather large detail.

i'm guessing either an 8 or an ace? i dunno. there's been a lot of tomfoolery posted with hands where people who play well postflop allegedly call flop bets and then raise weak turn leads with trash holdings, and take pots away from people. i think that people sometimes try to take things they read into their own game without thinking about the play first.

thinking about this one more time quickly, i'm guessing he's just trying to represent a good ace or something, since he shouldn't have an 8 in his hand basically ever.

if you're going to make a move like this and try to take a pot away from someone, don't take the check call check raise line usually unless you really know your man. personally i don't like this sort of bluff in spots where you have to use your whole stack to make the threat. i'd much rather a raise to 275 on the turn and folding to a reraise than pushing here. (and that's not saying i like raising to 275 and folding to a reraise.)

you just can't play every hand you decide to play to the felt just cuz they've got paint on them.
