Default Bad Call with KK

I was playing in a .5/1 home game at a full table, most people were in for 45-60. I had about 38 and the other 2 in the hand had me covered. My image is very tight/rockish, the other 2 were also fairly tight.
I get KK in middle position and make it 5 all day (standard raise) I get 1 caller right after me and a caller from LP. The flop is 8 8 5 with 2 spades. I lead out for 15 (leaving myself with 18) and get raised for my remaining 18 by the player to my left. The player from LP then goes all in.
I called and I'm not sure if it was the right play, was it?

Results in white:
Second player had A 9 spades
LP had 8 9
Turn and river made a straight to their 9 and I lost

How do the other guys play, since it's your home game I assume that you have a read on them as well as they do on you? Are they likely to have an 8 give the PFR? Would the LP semi-bluff here with 2 players? Do you have K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]? There are calling situations and folding, but it seems to me that it depends on the players as much as the cards.
