Default I\'ve never played NL before, dumb question....

I always played stud throughout the years but I was playing NL at a friends house tournament style.

If the blinds are 100-200 and someone goes all-in for say 1000, and i have him covered with with 5k in chips, what is the most he can win if he wins the pot? Can he double up to 2k or does he win the 300 in the blinds + 1k that he had for a total of 2300?

If you're not in the blinds, and you call, and the blinds fold, and he wins, he will win a 2300 pot.

Assuming you call and the blinds fold, he can win up to 2300. Basically, for his 1000 all-in he can win up to 1000 from anyone that enters the pot.
