Phil Ivey\'s Story
Anybody know what Phil Ivey's story is? By that I mean, how did he get so good at such a young age? How longs he been playing? Where'd he start out? etc...

Re: Phil Ivey\'s Story
If you search, it is out there.
Essentially, he snuck into Atlantic City pokerrooms in his teens with a fake ID and was a regular. when he turned 21, he rubbed their face in it a little by presenting his actual ID and real name. Otherwise, I assume he is just a dedicated, intelligent player. |

That could have been when he was still in grade school.

Re: Phil Ivey\'s Story
i remember seeing Phil every weekend at the Taj in his 75/150 Stud days. Either he bought in really big or almost always won, because his mountain of chips was huge everytime I saw it. Wasn't that long ago really.
It's pretty amazing that he is one of the best cash game pros in the world now, along with a top tourney player. |
