Default Alone in the Dark

I just saw it. Worst movie ever. My wife has theorized that they must've found Tata Reid, Christian Slater and Stephen Dorff high at some party and gotten them to sign on the dotted line to do the movie right there. Very high on the unintentional comedy scale, however. I was laughing hysterically at several points.

It's generally accepted that any movie based on a video game will suck balls.

If I could direct any video game movie, it would be

PAC-MAN!
Starring Steven Seagal

Oh. My. God. If by "has potential" you mean "the potential to destroy the memories of the best gaming experience of my life" I would say that you're spot on.

Seriously though, I do agree that Deus Ex and Duke Nukem both have potential (Deus Ex moreso than Duke Nukem) but I think that game-to-movie conversions just have so many inherent problems that it would be very hard to pull off anywhere near successfully.

i said potential. this is a high variance play.

im not saying a movie on them would be awesome no matter what. im saying a movie could be ludicrously good.
