Re: AKo > 3 Callers > Miss > Continuation Bet?
I would bet it, as I think it is a profitable bet when the board is paired (less chance that your opponents hit), you have the top two overcards, you have a backdoor flush draw and you have position. If you get called you obviously have a problem, but its not too hard to get away from the hand if you dont get a free card on turn or run into resistance. You will pick that pot up with a 12 dollar bet often enough to make the play (i would think).
BTW, we are talking two callers, right? |

Re: AKo > 3 Callers > Miss > Continuation Bet?
Yeah, 2 callers. Edited the original title. So bet $12, if I get raised, easy fold. If I get called, check behind if checked to on turn?
Also would like to point out that they don't need a 9 to call. I think Sevens, Eights, Tens, Jacks and up call. Obviously Jacks and above are unlikely as they probably would've raised, but my point still stands. I don't think they simple check-fold unless they have the 9. |

Re: AKo > 3 Callers > Miss > Continuation Bet?
My standard line is betting 3/4 here. Whether I have A K or A A or 9 9.

Re: AKo > 3 Callers > Miss > Continuation Bet?
I checked. I just thought I'd get looked up by one of the opponents. In my experience, limp-calling is usually random smallish to medium pairs from the passive players at this level. I felt I could take one off for free. I could still be good with nut no pair, improve to best hand with Ace or King on the turn, or get checked to and bet on turn. Lot of options. I can also survey the action as I have button, and somebody with something will most likely bet there.

I think it was TJ Cloutier who said there's no reason to put another penny into the pot with unimproved AK. While I don't agree with this 100%, it is a good concept to follow. I don't think he meant continuation bets, though. Probably just advising not to go broke with naked AK. |

Re: AKo > 3 Callers > Miss > Continuation Bet?
A check on the flop is fine once in a while to mix it up. After all, youŽll more often have AK-AJ when you raise pre-flop than AA-JJ (givcen that you raise all of those hands from LP). However, if I check the flop, I never bet the turn unimproved. By checking the flop you tell them that you have missed over cards and a turn bet looks like precisely what it is, a steal since no other showed interest in the pot, and will more often than not get called down by any PP.
