where is the dollar!!!!!!!!!!!
The missing dollar
You might be able to figure this out if you read it carefully. Three men went to a motel. The motel manager said a room cost $30, so each man put up $10 and went to their room. A little while later the manager realized the room was only $25, so he sent the bellhop back to the three guys' room with $5. On the way to the room the bellhop couldn't figure out how to split the $5 between the 3 men, so he gave each one of them $1 and he kept the other $2. This meant that the 3 men paid $9 each for the room for a total of $27. Add the $2 that the bellhop kept = $29. Where did the other dollar go? is that the JUICE? |

Re: where is the dollar!!!!!!!!!!!
The logical explanation of the flawed math is that
a = Money each paid for the room ($9) x Number of men (3) a = $27 "total" != a + Bellhops' amount ($2) 30 != 29 People (normal, non 2+2 people) get stumped trying to make "total" equal 30. There is NO relation between "total" and the original $30. Since the numbers are so close, people can believe that they must really need to equal each other yet it is only coincidence. The only "formula" that you can apply is. Money each paid x # of Men = Cost of Room + Bellhops' take $9 x 3 = $25 + $2 Alternatively, if you insist on making each side $30..... 10 x 3 = $25 + $2 + $3 (money about to be handed from bellhop to men) |
