Re: Since we all Idolize Gigabet...
Sklansky appears to be all talk when it comes to this one.
Winning some tournaments for a change would do a hell of a lot to boost 2+2 sales. Too bad that seems out of reach for Sklansky and Malmuth. I say that in all sincerity, but then again, I'd rather people read Helmuth's books. Despite Sklansky's protests to the contrary, there's a lot more to poker than math and logic. They both count a lot, but there are people who can handle that part of poker and still handle the rest of it as well. People skills don't seem to be Sklansky's forte. |

I think poker is only math and logic. The only difference between Poker and natural sciences is, that there have not been generations of geniuses working on the solvation of poker problems. Thats why the knowledge is so imcomplete that you have to use instinct because mathematical solutions are impossible to achieve. |

Re: Since we all Idolize Gigabet...
Yes thats true, I only play online since Poker isnt known where I live.
Theoretical question: If there was a program that would play heads-up perfectly (assume something like this exists) and I take a laptop to the casino and play against a pro, only executing what the program tells me to do, but still knowing my holecards. Would the pro really have an edge against me? |

Re: Since we all Idolize Gigabet...
That depends if you know your cards or not. If you know your hand you could still give away tells even if you don't decide on what to do yourself.

I think we're off the topic.
Would anyone besides me be intrigued to see Sklansky play Gigabet heads up? |

I think we're off the topic. Would anyone besides me be intrigued to see Sklansky play Gigabet heads up? [/ QUOTE ] Would be interesting, but won't happen. Sklansky knows giving someone like Gigabet 10:9 would be a losing proposition, so he gave himself a way out. When he made the offer, he limited to those who had already criticized him. Gigabet hadn't, so Sklasnky can refuse to play him, and still be a man of his word. |
