Hand 3 for Review: Flopped Trips, Reraised on Turn
InterPoker $.50/$1 NL
Hero ~ $205 Villian ~ $110 Villian is a donkey. Busted him before during a previous night on his all-in move on the river when he tried to bluff me with his Ax rag and I called with Big Slick. My Ace high, King kicker was good. Next day... Hero is dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 Limpers. Hero raises to $4. Both limpers call. Flop A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Checked thru. Turn: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero bets $8. Villian raises to $24. Hero? |

Re: Hand 3 for Review: Flopped Top Set, Reraised on Turn
If you think the "donkey" would raise pf with AQ, then pop him back. Otherwise I call it down, trying to get a cheap showdown.

Re: Hand 3 for Review: Flopped Top Set, Reraised on Turn
How many players are around the table? What position are the limpers (most importantly villain) in? How is villain's preflop aggression?

Re: Hand 3 for Review: Flopped Top Set, Reraised on Turn
First, small point, but this is trips, not a set.
Your ace is well disguised from the flop action. I think you should be looking at trying to maximize the pot here - there are only 4 hands that have you beat, and pretty much any ace plays the same way. Most opponents won't be folding an ace here under any circumstances, which is a good argument for pushing. You might conceivably get calls with pocket pairs or Qx as well. |
