Jeopardy! 12/5/02
Did anyone see this?
It's late in the Double Jeopardy round, with only 3 or 4 squares remaining and time is running out. The leader gets a Daily Double. As Alex points out, he has exactly double his next competitor $11,600 vs 5,800. The third place guy has $4,200. He wagers $5! The kicker is he took a long time to respond and he got it correct. That ended the round. Now, I'm thinking he knew the answer the whole time, but was stalling to end the round with a locked up victory. I'm a gambler, but I still would have bet nothing - is this allowed? Then the onus is on the competitor to answer correctly just to tie. |
