Default God-damned squeaky boot.

So I got me a pair of Sketchers about 6 months ago, and probably 2-3 months in, the left one starts squeaking. Sounds like I came in from the rain and am walking on smooth tile floor, even when the boot is dry and the floor is carpeted. At first I didn't care, but now it's pissing me off. I know I could go buy some new ones, but I'm lazy/willing to experiment to try to fix this one. I suspect there may be an air pocket that somehow formed in the rubber sole, any ideas how to fix it? I can't think of any way to melt the immediate area without destroying the rest of the boot--but thought maybe somebody by freak coincidence knows how to fix this type of thing.

There was a thread on this topic awhile back. I don't remember what anyone came up with. It seems like maybe kerssens started it.
