Ya, I want these beacuse they beat the plastic bicycles and I don't have home games very regularly.
Where is the cheapest place to find these? I looked on ebay and found a 500 chip set for $1.99. That seems way too low, is there something I'm missing? |

I got one of these with my sample set -
I will admit, these are some of the closest I've ever felt to real clay chips - not heavy (and neither are pure clay chips) but for sound feel, they're pretty close - If I was looking for a nice cheap set, I'd go with these - nice feel - almost clay this is the review - first one at the top of the page - http://www.pokerchipreviews.com/injection.html RB |

What you're missing is the cost of shipping which will be outrageous. Typical EBay deal. If the price of the item seems great, then the shipping cost is huge.

Mybrother won a set of these on an ebay auction for 1 cent (550 chips). However, he had to pay over 50 bucks to ship them to Canada.

If you don't play frequently, or even if you do play frequently, the 11.5g Suited Chips will be fine as a surrogate for cash . To be honest, you could use anything and it would be fine for this purpose -- coke caps, match sticks, pennys, etc. 15 or 20 years ago, the 11.5g chips would have been considered almost 'elite' That being said, there may be better and cheaper options for your money. Problems with the 11.5g chips 1. They don't stack well 2. Because of the metal slug they make a metallic 'ping' when you drop them 3. Because they're so common, anyone could sneak in a 'big' chip and screw the banker (not a problem with close friends, but more of a problem than you'd think) 4. They don't 'riffle' as well as some others. 5. False advertising -- they claim that these are an 'official' weight, and that they're casino quality chips. This is just plain false. However, as I've said, they work as well as anything as surrogate for cash. On ebay, you can get them for around $40 for 500 including shipping and a case. To be honest, the ebay prices are competitive with other on-line stores for these chips. So, bottom line, if you want serviceable chips, and don't want to spend the time familiarizing yourself with what's out there, get these. If you spend a little time, you might get a 'better' chip (whatever that means) for the same money. However the choice is yours, and really there is no 'wrong' choice. |
