Default Shorthanded on Level Two

Recently I have had multiple SNGs ($11s) get down to 5 and even 4 players in the middle of level two. My question is how do you change your strategy at this point, since bubble play would suggest a more loose strategy but the blinds are still small so you want to tighten up. I've had some sucess playing real tight aggressive but I've had the shortstack so I really havnt had much of a choice.
