Default Bizarre computer problem

So I recently installed and have been playing for several days NHL 2005. I like it a lot. I also installed a computer controller to play the game. Today, after several days of play, my computer started randomly shutting down and restarting during game play. Once it shut down and when restarted promptly shut down again (without me opening NHL 2k5).

WTF??? This is a new computer (bought in January) running the most recent version of XP available.

Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties .
On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery .
Click to clear the Automatically restart check box under System failure , and then click OK . The error message on a blue screen should remain on the screen so you can record the error information.

If you have XP an error report should happen automatically.

Normally restarting like this is a video driver problem. But since your computer restarted before you opened up the game once I'm a bit puzzled.

Is your room hot?

It could be the inside getting too warm and then it restarts the pc to save itself from frying itself.
