1 less squirrel

On my way to work this morning a squirrel ran out from under a parked car and I ran it over. In 15 years of driving this is the first animal I've ever hit. It kind of sucked.

I hit a dog the other day. Damned thing was in the middle of a dark road just staring at me. It didn't help that only one headlight works on my POS car. I slammed on my breaks, left some rubber on the road and knocked it backwards, but I guess I slowed down enough that I just stunned it and it quickly rolled onto its feet and ran off. I have to say that not killing it was one of the best feelings I've had in a while.

I've hit a few but the worst was when I lived in S.D. I had a rommate that drove a pick-up truck. One day he was dropping me off at the apartment and going someplace else. I got out of the truck and started walking toward our door.

He pulled up a little bit and stopped while he did something in the truck. I heard this horrible noise. I turn around and he's just parked on top of the back half of a cat, and he doesn't even realize it.

This poor cat has a truck tire on his back half and his front half is just squirming around while he makes these horrible yowling, grunting, moaning noises. It still gives me chills to remember, and I don't even like cats.

Yeah, weird how that doesn't seem like a big deal until it actually happens.

Thus far, I've got several stamps on my car in 20 years of driving:

1 squirrel (swerved 3 times... bugger was determined to die)
1 road runner (ironically my old high school mascot)
1 cat (that really sucked)
1 bird (more like he hit me, but one of us suffered worse injuries, so we'll put that one on me)

Once a bird flew in the passenger window while I was doing 45, hit my friend in the chest, and somehow made it back out of of the car within three seconds.

My worst experience was having to crush the head of a little rabbit after fatally injuring him one foggy morning. =[

Yea, i did the rabbit thing, but it was really awful. I was using a push lawn mower and i looked down and realized I had run over like 3 baby rabbits. There was blood everywhere and I ran inside and shot them with a BB gun, cause at age 10, i thought i could put them out of their misery

I hit a raccoon or something once. It was dark and I didn't actually stop to have a look at it. Don't worry; it wasn't a person. I caught a glimpse of it about half a second before it dove under my tire.

I remember when I was younger, my girlfriend's cat got hit by a car. It was pretty gruesome...some guy bashed its head in with a tire iron to put it out of its misery. The image of the cats eyes bulging out of his head sticks with me even today. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I once accidentally ran over my neighbors dog.


Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly", and replace "dog" with "son".
