QQ post-flop
Is my flop bet out of line here? I put him on a big ace, but AK is certainly not out of the question and of course AA or KK are trouble as well or is this just MUTB? This is a 25+2 turbo, if it makes a difference...

Re: QQ post-flop
I wouldn't bet into that flop with the reraise unless you hit a set. You bet into the stronger hand, I believe, unless he reraised with crap he shouldn't have.

Re: QQ post-flop
Now that I've posted it, I agree. I'm behind any hand that could reasonably reraise me except for maybe someone getting aggressive with JJ.

Re: QQ post-flop
With his reraise, I can't think of a hand to put him on that you beat besides maybe JJ. I don't like it.

Re: QQ post-flop
Probably because I'm a $5.50 player, I'd have pushed the reraise preflop and take my chances that the guy doesn't have AA or KK, knowing full well that he might.
Obviously, there are fewer fish at the level you're playing at, but it sounds like you're giving the guy credit for having a big hand. What hands could he have here? AA/KK/AK he's raising (or in the case of KK, smoothcalling). What are you gonna when he raises your 400? If I had just called the preflop reraise, I'd have probably bet about the same as you. But I think it puts you in a tough spot when you get reraised. |

Re: QQ post-flop
the flop sucked.. if he re raised with 99 or 1010 he would then have you beat with a worse hand. AA KK AK he still has you beat not many hands i can think of that would make this hand worth going all in againt.. except if he re raised A10 preflop he might play it the same way.. overall i would have to fold Q's..

Re: QQ post-flop
I can't see throwing all my chips in here pre-flop -- maybe with a Party-sized stack, but I think that's a little extreme.
FWIW, he min-reraised my flop bet, which set off warning bells for me. I dropped it there. |

Re: QQ post-flop
Yeah, I'll push with a Party-sized stack, but not with a Stars one.
This is a tough hand, and admittedly my postflop skills have gone to sh*t now that I play solely SNGs on Empire. With this stack size though, I'd probably check/fold. I dunno if that's correct though. |

Re: QQ post-flop
hrm, when i played at stars i would happily push QQ preflop. Maybe that's why i dropped $600 3.5 months ago when i tried to move up to the $27's from the $15+1's.
Now i understand dropping 20 buyins is a regular occurance, especially at the higher levels where ROI's are usually lower. I think the $27's at stars play closer to the 55's at party than the 33's. |
