Default Huge loser from BB/SB

Having read through th 18k stats post thread, I for the first time looked at my position stats in PT (I'm pretty noob) and saw that my biggest losses are from BB/SB and at first I was like WHOA...then I realized I do have to put money in there involuntarily. Just wondering if this constitutes a leak in my game, or if it is just a result of the blinds? My sample is size is only 6k hands, but still it got me wondering. For example I have 700ish hands in BB, and have net loss of over 300...

Any other people have this problem when just starting out and any ideas how I can fix it? I am probably defending blinds too often or not often enough - is there a way I can find out which?

Thanks!

You're suppose to lose money from the blinds.

Look at the stats without the blind money. You will almost certainly lose "with" the blind money included.

If you automatically check/fold the flop in the BB, you'd be a .5BB loser from that position. Are you losing less than that?

Similarly if you always folded in the SB, you'd be a .25BB loser, are you doing better than that at least?

So does this mean I am not making enough money in the other positions to cover my (guaranteed?) losses in the blinds?

BB is at -.23/hand, and SB is at -.06BB, which I guess is better than that default value, but still concerns me...

Well, when you figure out how to show a profit by calling with any two cards in the worst position, you can write a poker book about it and retire rich

I don't know what mine are but I wouldn't be overly concerned. You're playing crap in the 1st or second position, you're going to be a net loser from these spots. I'd worry more about hands/positions where you're voluntarily putting money in.

-0.23 from BB is a bit high, but not crazy. Don't worry about these stats too much.
