Default Amazing Hand. Stars SNG

This is a hand that came up between me and my brother in an SNG earlier today. He is very aggressive when he gets some chips, so i decided to re-steal here. He made a good read on my play though, and called. I am akjohn1 in the BB, he is ksnik, on the button.

Once he raised to 300, your raise to 890 made it so that he has 590 to call to win 1290 so he has 2 to 1 odds. If he folds he's at 2005 chips which is a shorter stack in relation to the table, however if he calls and looses hes at 1400 chips which is still playable - especially with another shortish stack in the BB when he's on the button. If he calls and wins he's at ~3400 in chips and becomes a very potent force at the table.

I'm not saying it's a good call on his part but I can see why he did it - ESPECIALLY if he thought you might do something like this.

In the future, in order to try this you really need more chips so that he's really hurting if he calls and loses.

playing at the same tourney table as a family member won't get your accounts locked or anything, don't worry about it.

it hasnt happened yet. if there was any suspicion of collusion, there are smart people working at Pokerstars who can look at the hand histories to see if anything fishy is going on. Also, i am playing way below my bankroll limits ($5 and $10 sngs) just so i can play with my brother who is 2000 miles away. If people are worried about us teaming up to win $20, then thats ridiculous. If anything, i play tougher and make more plays against him, so that i can flaunt it later. But nice thought anyways.
