Wow these bittorrents sure DL fast! ....not

What are you doing wrong??? Probably nothing. Depending on how popular the file is and how many leeches and seeders there are, you may not have much for download speed.

On torrent spy it says there are 2103 seeders and 1409 downloaders

is that a lot?

I thought with torrents you were suppose to download at lightening speed.....I could just get the same file off bear share at like 20x the speed, so whats the big deal? Will things change for me?

Do you have port forwarding set up on your router? IIRC, a BT app will restrict your download speed based on your upload speed to avoid total leechers. So if you're not uploading (because of no port forwarding) then you won't download as quickly.

Applications use ports to communicate traffic that is intended for them. I'm too lazy to look it up, but lets say bittorrent runs on port 5555. So you are behind your firewall as IP address 192.168.1.1, for example, and traffic is coming in to your IP address on port 5555 looking for bittorrent. It does not see bittorrent because the router is ignoring anything that isn't normal traffic. So you need to tell your router to forward all traffic on port 5555 to your internal IP address at 192.168.1.100.
