Default Lost Wages Part II...Adventures of the SPM

Thursday morning the SPM was up just after sun rise, he went out on the veranda to jump started his heart with caffeine and nicotine, two important drugs for healthy living. Little brother was still sleeping. He might be forty but he sleeps like a teenager. Not even an atomic blast could wake this kid from a sleep while he's on a mini vacation. He's a hard working man who works long hours. He works hard, plays hard, and sleeps hard. At least that's what his wife says.

With his heart pumping faster from the morning wake up drugs the SPM was ready to hit the Hold'em trail. But, Headquarters called and said "slow down cowboy, take your time, no need to rush into battle before noon. So he return to the veranda an started reading, "A Brief History of Time," by Stephen Hawking. More caffeine and nicotine to help focus on the book and not the action that was in the air just a few miles down the road.

Finally it was time to join the Hold'em battle at the Mirage. The SPM was bouncing off the condo walls. It was either the excitement of pre battle jitters or the large quantity of caffeine and nicotine injected into his blood stream. Headquarters suggested the two gamblers have dinner at the Bellagio Cafe before going to war. War is hell and a good soldier needs to be fed before going into battle. There would be no mess call once the first Chipster entered the war zone. The brothers wolfed down the food in record time. There was to much action in the air to spend value able time chewing and socializing.

With dinner out of the way the SPM wanted to buzz the Bellagio poker room one more time, to see if he could find those illusive 2+2 posters. Then it happened, a heavenly glow came form the Bellagio high stacks poker room. There they were, the two legends of poker. The SPM was dizzy with excitement. He genuflected at the bottom of the steps before walking up to the knights of poker. They were discussing business, probably poker business, maybe some new mathematical poker equation that would change poker forever. "Excuse me gentlemen are you...and my mind went blank in the excitement of the moment. I couldn't speak their names and mumbled something like, aren't you Mason Slansky. They looked up at me waiting for something intelligent to come out of my mouth so I said "I'm the SPM," now feeling pretty stupid that I had barged in on them. They graciously smiled and said hello. One of them said, "Oh yes, your the guy that drives z crazy, keep up the good work." I really don't know which one said what, I was way to excited and was just happy they didn't have security throw me out of the casino. I shook both of there hands and said something stupid and they smiled and I said, "Well I don't want to keep you from your business," I said good bye and "thanked them for writing all those books blah, blah, blah." If I never win another hand of poker meeting them was the highlight of my poker life. Gentlemen thanks for taking the time to say hi.

SPM,...look for War at the Mirage, Part 3 of the Adventures of the SPM in Lost Wages...
