Default JJ Bubble Fold

$55 Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t300 (4 handed) converter

Button (t2280)
SB (t3375)
Hero (t2010)
UTG (t2335)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG raises to t600, Button raises to t2280 (All-In), 2 folds, UTG calls t1680.

Flop: (t5010) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: (t5010) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t5010) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: t5010

UTG has a poor grasp of bubble play strategy. Button is solid and appropriately LAGGY on bubble. I read Button for re-steal but folded anyway.

Fold and don't think twice about, yes you would have hit your trips in this situation and tripled up but you can't be result oriented. Plus too often a UTG minraise is a monster qq--aa.

By UTG calling you are guaranteed in the money unless they split and you will still have plenty of chips to still win the tournament. Take the free money and then win it 3 handed.

I have made this type of call in this situation and wanted to kick myself in the ass when I get knocked out.

Only way I make this call is if I am sure Button is restealing... and that UTG will fold to my raise. I don't want to be in a 3 way pot with JJ.

The reads I had were what made this a tough fold. Absent reads, I would have folded much more easily. The minraise from this opponent meant that he was continuing with his very exploitable bubble play.

But I understand your thoughts and agree that the fold is correct.
