TT - mistake?
20+2 hand form pokerroom, deep starting stacks of 1500.
We are still 8 handed as the blinds hit 100-200, no one has a huge stack. I was up but have now declined back to 1500 in chips. The guy next to me is pushing constantly after getting shortstacked. He has stolen the last 3 hands. I finally get to act before him as he gets into the BB. I have TT UTG. Is it a mistake to push this into a field of 8?

I would limp hoping he would push over the top of me then call him. Your probably good.

I would push here. What will the next blind level be? 150/300 or 200/400? If it will is 200/400 you will not have much FE if you fold this and your blinds. I think I would push anyways though.

I don't like pushing TT into a field of 8 from UTG. The blinds just hit 100/200, correct? I think you have time.

Next level is 150/300. I think I can fold through my blinds and still have a round with some fold equity. With so many players left no one has a mountain yet. Surely someone will acquire one soon, but I can probably find a spot or two for a little while longer.

With a 13% chance of being dominated and given that you would never get called by a hand you dominate you would have to win the blinds here abiut 30% of the time for this to be +CEV. Probably a lot more for it to be +$EV.
The limp/call push is probably better.

My cold call UTG when the blinds have been taken via push is gonna be so obvious that someone is only going to push over me with overcards or an overpair. So when I call, I am probably like 80% of the time in a coin flip, 20% of the time I am a 20% dog. So I end up around 45% to double up or go home. But more likely...and even worse....my cold call is going to invite a few other cold calls. And then the blinds check to a free flop. And then I have TT multiway which if it doesnt flop a set probbaly means I am screwed. The short stack - who is no longer all that short - is not an idiot. Hes a good player. I suspect his first push was witha small PP, the 2nd one was a straight steal, and he probably had a big hand by the third time and was hoping for a call. Its gotta be push or fold here, right? But if I am called, I can only hope to be in a coin flip. No one here is calling with 99 or worse.
