Fold. Getting tricky will often cripple your stack. The first rounds is about getting paid off when you have a big hand. Two overcards isn't a big hand.

And yes, his weak bet might be a steal. It might also be a trapping play. At the $11 a raise here will often turn him into a calling station where his Q7 beats you on the river.

You could of course call. You are getting a pretty good price for drawing to your overcards. It is possible you will get a better idea of the strength of his hand on the turn.

Raise to t75 pre-flop. Villains aren't thinking, "That's 3BB, a standard raise" they're thinking "That's 50 chips, and I've got hundreds of them." If you're going to get this heads-up, you need to bet more.

Fold on the flop. Maybe he's just taking a stab, but at this level there's no guarantee you're not against Q8 (it was sooted!). Moreover, as one of the other posters noted, you're not going to knock anyone off their weak pair here. You're behind, so fold.

How does anyone's answers change if this is checked to hero? Check/fold unless something hits? Bet 1/2 the pot and try to take it down?

If it's checked to you, I think it's ok to take a stack. 1/2 to 2/3 of the pot is what I use.

I see where you're going. I ended up calling...turn came Q...he bet 2x pot and i folded down.

As for if it were checked to me. I think a bet 3/4 to pot size could take or at least give you an idea of where he stands. Generally though I check/fold turn and river if i dont hit...early levels arent worth too many stabs.

Thanks so far...

I agree. I also think the PF raise is fine (so is 75...). Fold this.
