Default Strength of insurgency

Hi,
I have been harassed on this forum for claiming that the insurgents recruit at the same speed as they are killed in Iraq. I had credible sources for this.

Today I saw a press conference with David Rumsfeld and some military guy and after some questioning he admitted that the insurgency is as strong as one year ago.

Not to be a nit, I just want to clearify I don't make up facts.

Some posters here live in a world where all are flowers in Iraq. If some fact contradicts their vision, they just discard the fact.

The insurgency will continue until the following occur:

1) A legitimate election occurs in which 80%+ participate. A national leader (president, PM) must be elected.

2) The unemployment rate goes down to 10% or less.

3) The Iraqi army starts enforcing the law.

4) US troops leave.

You'll note they will probably happen in that order (1 and 2 at same time).

Steps that can lead to this include:
The elections held last January.
Spending all of that aid money we allocated and didn't spend at all.
Enforcing the law instead of letting militias run the country.

Seems like a good plan in theory, but do you think 1 is possible within the next 1-2 years?

Who the hell is David Rumsfeld? I agree with you Iraq should be handed over to the insurgency ASAP because they're the freedom fighters in the war against U.S. oppression.

Ooops,
It is the secret twin of Donald Rumsfeld who escaped from mental hospital, killed Donald, took his identity and decided to go to WAR.

I didn't give a timeframe, i listed the objectives.

My completely uneducated pot shot guess based on the same useless info you have is:

1) One Year
2) Hopefully within next 2-5
3) Same as above
4) Ten years
