QQ
Is this the way to play pocket lower than highest board card.
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, 3 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls. Flop: (9 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, SB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds. Turn: (6 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, SB calls, UTG+1 calls. River: (9 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks. Well, because they were not loose loose players and I raised preflop, I figured they called my flop bet with Kx because there were no draws -> they had to have a made hand. Final Pot: 9 BB |

Re: QQ
"They were not loose loose players" so would they have called preflop with Kx? You could of course be up against Kx suited but I think that in most cases you would have heard from a K on the flop.
I would bet this river expecting to be called by for example AT, A8, A4. In their eyes you could very well have been pushing it with AQ, AJ and the risk of you getting check-raised almost zero. It is an easier valuebet against one player but I'll still go for it. |

Re: QQ
People will call your flop bet with much less than a K. Value bet the river.

Re: QQ
Raise the flop. He expects you to do that with a variety of preflop-raising holdings and a raise from you doesn't tell him that you have a set of Ks or Qs.
If he then still bets into you on the turn when the spade falls I'd just call it down from there unimproved. As the hand was played I'm all confused with the actions of CO but I agree with your line of action. |
