Over $54mm in its opening weekend, 2nd highest EVER for an R rated movie.

Go to show the problems in our society are deeper than I first realized, it is ashame to see that so many 13-15 year old kids have fake Id's that allow them to get into R rated movies.

Default 8 Mile box office gross should have been larger

I imagine a LOT of 12-16 year olds actually bought tickets for PG or PG-13 films and then snuck in to see "8 Mile". back when the South Park movie was released, it was estimated that other films benefitted by about $5-$7 million dollars from this type of business.
