Default Comnments on the forum

Wow, I love how this forum is growing!

People keep lementing that the holdme orientation is killing off the other games - no way.

This forum is a perfect example, 6 months ago this was the "other" forum and there were 1 or 2 posts a day, look at us now!

Last night UB had 4 full tables going at the lower limits!

Omaha is taking off.

Any idea WHY it's growing? Someone gave me Zee's High-Low book for Christmas...and after initially giving the obligatory "thanks"...I read it, and found out I liked it.

All I can figure is people getting bored with holdem and SnGs look for something new. The WSOP PLO coverage helped, and showing Annie and her O8b bracelet.

SS2 and Play Poker Like the Pros helps too I am sure.

What attracted me to O/8 is my boredom with the current "Hold 'Em personality."

I've long enjoyed casino poker, in part for its social aspects. While I suck at stud, Hold 'Em is a relatively easier game to get good at. Only trouble is that so many people at the tables are sullen posers, more interested in the image thing.

My Omaha experiences, particularly in B&Ms has been a lot more jovial.

And, it's a bit more complex than Hold 'Em, while not requiring the memory skills (that I don't seem to have, anyway) of stud.

I just find it more pleasant, and the players to be more civilized.

I have noticed this, too, but didn't want to jinx it by saying anything, lol.

Seriously, though, I guess "they" were right when "they" said that the other games would eventually bounce back. I hate "them," btw.

I've noticed a lot more interest in O8 online, since I'm quarantined in my house until I'm done with chemo.

The play is also atrocious. I chuckle at some of Ray's book suggestions these days, knowing that the game has changed that much, in so little time.

I had never played PLO8 before a couple months ago - I have played Stud8 for a while but never could find a reason why I never played PLO8, since I had played the 1/2 PLO regularly on both stars and party, but never dipped over to the 'other side' - entered my first PLO8 tourney on stars, made the final table....started playing 30+3 PLO8 SNG's on party and having decent success, and just made my 2nd final table in as many attempts in a tourney on party yesterday - i think i have a problem, i'm hooked on PLO8 This forum (although I have not posted, but have read almost every post since its inception) is a great resource, as this is a very profitable game at the lower levels I currently play at (30+3 SNG and .50/1 - 1/2 PL) for people that have a clue

PLO8 still mistifies me, I think I am not patient enough, I can win at the penny games, but not for anything more than that. i have some money on Doylesroom I was going to devote to learning this game, but I am so bad I am afraid to play, I love limit.
