Libertarians and Robert A. Heinlein
How many of you Libertarians here have read Robert A. Heinlein's The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress? (A great book, btw.) In that story how close is the social and political environment (pre-revolution, obviously) on luna to what the Libertarian view sees as optimal - specifically in the size of government?

I'd say it's pretty damn close. I know I'd move there in a heartbeat if I could.

Re: Libertarians and Robert A. Heinlein
Could someone go into the details of what the government and society is like?

Re: Libertarians and Robert A. Heinlein
You should buy the book and read it. It's a wonderful read, even if you don't want to hear about how well a libertarian society works. Here is my review from OOT.

Re: Libertarians and Robert A. Heinlein
Depsite the associated hardships with living on luna (although there are described benefits as well), or just you'd move to that political climate in a heartbeat?

Re: Libertarians and Robert A. Heinlein
That political climate. I believe that people should be able to live their lives as they wish as long as they are not initiating force on another person. To that extent, TMIAHM isn't there 100%, but I'd take it.
