milking opportunity missed?
Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (9 handed) converter
MP3 ($8) CO ($34.25) Button ($44.85) SB ($56.25) Hero ($100.05) UTG ($38.45) UTG+1 ($23.35) MP1 ($46.85) MP2 ($69.65) Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, CO calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero checks. Flop: ($1.75) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> Hero checks, UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets $1.75</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $6</font>, UTG folds, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $10.25</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $33</font>, CO folds. Final Pot: $45 should i have just called that raise of $10.25 and let CO possibly hit his boat, or was my raising correct? i feel like i missed an opportunity to get him all in on the turn, even without the board pairing..but if he was on a set (which i'm sure of it) then the risk of the board pairing was too great. also i'm 90% sure of him raising preflop with KQ, so i ruled that out after 20 seconds of deliberation. any advice greatly appreciated!! |

Re: milking opportunity missed?
I dont dislike your play here but on a rainbow flop like this I might just call and try and (as you say) get your chips in on the turn. If he really has a set the odds of him catching a full are small. Something else I would consider is that if he has a set he has 7 outs on the turn and will have 10 on the river if the board doesnt pair. SO id definately go all in on the turn. Either way you won a big pot right away and didnt give a free card.

Re: milking opportunity missed?
Make your raise to 25ish, and then the pot will be correct for a push on the turn. It will also commit him to his hand if he calls on the flop, which is nice.

Re: milking opportunity missed?
Even $20 works fine. He almost has to call, and then it's an easy push on the turn for his last $10 or so.
